• This book rocks!! It is easy to read, full of current up to date information and keeps you turning the page! We spent all night reading and dreaming about adventures to have in Uruguay. Excellent book!!
• A great guide for anyone looking for inside info on Uruguay. There are very few books to choose from. This book sums up areas, to do’s and must sees.
• We were looking for someplace warm and a bit off the beaten path for a December honeymoon and after a bit of amateur research, this book really was what clinched Uruguay for us. It's a great read, written in a way that allows even an inexperienced traveler to start remembering and referencing places of interest pretty quickly. Even for the nervous/planner type, this book gives a level of detail that puts the reader/traveler at ease.
• Lacks detail on vice, but otherwise it is GREAT!!!
• Plan to travel and visit most of the places in the book, great for visitors.
• What a fun book! I bought this to plan my dream vacation to Uruguay (which, to be honest, I'm not sure will happen any time soon)...and I have not been disappointed. This book gives the inside scoop on the beaches, ranches, and wine country areas outside of the Uruguayan capital. I appreciate that the author only writes about places she has been to personally, AND that she only includes places that stay open all year round (thus excluding potential tourist traps). She also makes helpful suggestions about when to plan your visit, how to get around, and a variety of things to do in each place. Also, she's FUNNY...this book is full of "Easter eggs"...like her fashion advice for gaucho country (I won't spoil it for you...buy the book!) I also recommend following Guru'guay on facebook; you'll get even more helpful information, and if you have questions about anything in the book, you can ask, and she will reply with the same knowledge and humor she shares in the book. Essential reading if you plan to visit Uruguay!
• We wish that the Guru'Guay Guide had been published when we first visited Uruguay in 2010 and fell in love with the people, the lifestyle and the architecture. Since then, we have followed Karen's website for useful information to assist us in our travels through the country and finally she has put many of her fabulous tips to paper.
  
  The guide has abundant, practical information, not only for the first time visitor but also for long-time residents.
  And, what a great introductory publication that we hopefully will be ammended in the future!
• I retired and moved to Uruguay more than two years ago, but haven't traveled very far from the city where I live. This book gave me insight into the other parts of Uruguay, and the desire to explore the rest of the country.
  
  It's very well-written, and the layout is very intuitive. I recommend it for anyone visiting or planning to move to Uruguay.
